Cruise Elements:

Quality of Food:
The Choice was enormous, a glutton would have had fun
Entertainment:
One singer was excellent, the dancers/singers were very good, & the Cruise Director liked to dress younger than she is
Shore Excursions:
The Best Excursion was a discovery tour of Santorini. We have been to the Island before but only arrived in the evening, went up the cable car, found a bar with lovely views & drank a bottle of red wine
Staff:
Can't Remember. All of the staff appeared to be well trained, happy, & gave good service for which I wish to thank them on behalf of my wife & myself
Onboard Activities:
Yes or one could just lay about
Cabins:
We had a Balcony Cabin on the Starboard Side
The Viking Star was the first Ocean Going Ship for Viking & we embarked at Athens on 29th March & disembarked at Venice on 7th April 2018. We had previously been aboard Viking Sea or Sky to the Baltic some 2 years ago. I thought that Viking were only going to have 5 Ocean going ships but now orders have been made for another 5. The stateroom was excellent, the bed was comfortable. The food was good as were the numerous venues. My wife said that last time we spent all our time in the World Caf after one night in Manfredis (which I call Man Fridays). This time we spent the first 2 nights in Manfredis, moved to the Dining Room & then the last two evenings were spent in the World Caf. So all the Ships are similar in size & in dcor. The staff are super, it was mentioned I believe they came from 55 nations. A great Cruise & at least the services at Venice Airport have improved. So what do I say next, one of the ports of call which we missed I was looking forward to a trip to Olympia, so instead we went to Sparta & a trip to an Olive Oil Museum. The remainder of the ports were superb. However, Greek tour leaders never seem to take a breath they always keep talking. Went to the Archaeological Museum in Athens, to Santorini, to Gythion(Sparta), Kotor (last time I walked up the Mountain to be faced with a neighbour who said "hello Brian what are you doing here"), Dubrovnik (unfortunately the Cable Car was shut again), Zadar, Kopar. We have been to Venice before so we did not wake at 2am to see the Ship going in. A Wonderful Cruise, love paying up front & only having a bill for $18 Dollars at the end
