Cruise Elements:

Quality of Food:
All meals were provided in the on board restaurant. The daily choice was varied and well cooked and presented. We had one disappointment with a pasta dish.
Entertainment:
We greatly enjoyed a lady singer and her musician husband. Other entertainments were also acceptable.
Shore Excursions:
It is difficult to differentiate between the interesting visits to the smaller towns with their older streets and buildings. Trips around Cologne and Frankfurt were less enjoyable as obviously most of the architecture is post 1945.
Staff:
It would be unfair to single out one member of staff for mention. All the crew were committed to achieving the highest standard of service.
Onboard Activities:
Cabins:
We cruised on the Uniworld River Duchess from Vienna to Amsterdam in June 2012. The ship had been completely refurbished during the previous winter and was in immaculate condition and provided first class comfort. The level of service was of the highest order as was the culinary standard achieved by the on-board team of chefs. If we had any disappointment, it would be that the length of visits to the rebuilt cities such as Cologne and Frankfurt was to the detriment of the length of time available for visits to such lovely old riverside towns such as Rudesheim and Boppard. Would we recommend the River Duchess? - absolutely!
