The ship was kept very clean in all public areas, the staff in reception were very polite, friendly and always more than willing to help. The food in the restaurant was very good and well presented, the waiters/waitresses were very polite and served the food with a smile no matter what pressure they were under. The excursions on the whole were good value for money, the only one I can say that was poor was the wine tasting evening. Activities on board were a bit limited, a quiz in the evening, when the ship was travelling between destinations there could have been other activities such as Bingo, carpet bowls or even a game show such as Mr & Mrs. The in house entertainer was very pleasant, playing music for all ages and tastes All the cabins on board were exactly the same, compact but with all you need, except it could do with tea or coffee facilities in your cabin, our cabin was kept very clean, towels changed everyday. You had a list each evening of what was due to take place the next day, ie, what time the ship sailed/arrived any excursions. I would definitely use MS Serenity again, but my only gripe, and that of most of the passengers I spoke to was the tipping system recommended. I and most others want to tip the people who have helped them the most, those who have gone the extra mile. We tipped the people we wanted to directly. Our journey home was by train and due to the French strike and a strike in Brussels our journey home was horrendous, there were 53 of us going on Eurostar and we had the tour manager with us, she was absolutely brilliant throughout, keeping on a happy face and making sure everyone was alright. She did a fantastic job under such stressful conditions.
