We've sailed many times with Seabourn, mainly on the little ships, Pride, Legend and Spirit. We did do Sojourn, Quest and the new Encore last year and wanted to see how Odyssey fared. We joined in Athens after a night in the Grande Bretagne Hotel which is lovely and has an unparalleled view of the Acropolis. Easy transfer to the ship the next morning and we were onboard by noon which was really appreciated. Suites not ready till 2.30pm but not a problem as we had lunch in the Colonnade and then went out to the Patio Bar. We were not disappointed with the ship and found the atmosphere on board to be good, better than Quest and Sojourn, the sister ships. The crew were really friendly and we were really pleased to see Captain Geir-Arne with whom we've sailed quite a few times though not seen for a few years. Our stewardess was outstanding and extremely helpful with any request. We were on deck 7 which was handy for the Square and Coffee Shop. Evening meals were mostly in the main diningroom and we found an excellent waiter and stuck with him. There were a couple of problems with the iPad tablets they use and service was a little slow on one occasion but he sorted everything out. Breakfast and lunch we had in the Colonnade. Breakfast was excellent though sometimes not enough waiters on. Lunch was ok though a lot of the hot buffet dishes, including the carvery were only luke warm. Also there was little choice of soft rolls and practically no cold cuts uf you wanted, as my husband does, to make your own sandwich. Shrimp cocktails had hardly any shrimps in it and I did see a few things they were seeming to cut down on. Yes, you can have as many as you like but I would have needed about 4 of them and ended up with a mountain of lettuce! I asked for the crab claws which I had had on previous occasions but these never materialised. In the end though there is always something you can find and the French fries are outstanding. Only had room service for early morning coffee and this was always hot and prompt. So apart from a few glitches with the food we thought it a very successful cruise. Nice itinerary though only two sea days which I like.
