Sailed on Royal carbein Amathan off the Sea , great ship from start to finish.fly from Heathrow to Hong Kong were we stayed 3 n then fly to Auckland were we joined the ship,, porters there to take our cases, very quick and polite, no big ques as found on some ships, tho security and all paper work delt with very quick, onces on board as we booked in afternoon able to go straight to our cabin, balcony which was great, very clean and comfortable, room under bed to put suitcases, no kettle as I have found with all ships sailing from country outside England,T V , table and chairs on balcony big enough to sit out on and watch world go by,we then got call for lifeboat drill , this was not as I had done on other ships ,we had to go to theatre, did not have to worry about taking life jackets which was good, plenty off crew to point the way ,there we were given a safety talk ,I know if you have sailed a lot you think you know all but each ship is different and you must attend, did not take up to much time, and time we returned to cabin cases were there ,unpacked and went to look for food, Windermere self service great for that time off day , could have not asked for better, even tho busy ,plenty off crew around if want alcohol, everything else help your self, all nices and fresh. Went for a walk round ship ,to see what goning on, nices swimming pool outside plus whirlpool, bar their also small places were you could get coffee/tea in morning with crossent etc at breakfast and cake etc lunch time, you have a big theatre, good shows in evening also used as a meting point for trips etc, believe about 12 decks lower ones cabins as get higher find restaurants, photos shop long walk tho with shops on ever side , bars and coffee shops, casino , on deck crazy golf we played this even tho we had bad weather , if weather ok they show dims by the pool. Went back to our cabin to change for evening,if you have paid in advance for drinks package ( worth donning ) and tips you can go to eat when you wish, otherwise given a time, we never had a long wait for a table, good service and great food, tell them day before big have a birthday and crew will come in and sing happy birthday,, Then went to theatre, some nights shows were great others not so good, but that is only our opinion, hard to please everyone. Found great entertainment in middle off ship every night, need to get a seat wile waiting for it to start can sit and watch lifts that are all lit up goning up and down, when we were on few days later wile sleeping all Christmas trees etc were put up, lovely to see when went down for breakfast next morning, Trips could be expensive ,we just got off ship and looked around the towns, only one port unable to visit as to windy for ship to use tenders, we were on their 10 days ,couple sea days lots to do when at sea , on arriving in Sydney, onces again getting off was easy ,cases picked up from outside cabin night befor, you are given a meting point were you go and wait for number to be called, then leave ship tho security cases in termal. Only thing I was disappointed W Ithaca on this ship, was dress code ,people dont bother to dresse up very much in evening (Idid)it says no shorts in restaurant but did see pe wearing them and let in. I always thy crusing dressing up part off fun. They also have special restaurants veered you pay extra to eat but we did not use them as food was so good in included restaurants. Would sail on this ship again
