We were booked on Navigator of the Seas on 5/11/2018 (Boston, New York overnight, Port Canaveral finishing in Miami. A first trip with RCI, but regular cruisers with other lines. We received an email two days before travel to say there was a change in itinerary due to multiple storms in the Northern Atlantic. New itinerary- Zeebrugge, Le Havre overnight (leaving at 6am!), Gran Canaria and Miami. Not much difference there then? An onboard spend per cabin of 100,150,200 or 300$ according to cabin booked was offered as compensation. We were doing a back to back, picking up another cruise in Miami so chose to travel so not to miss the rest of our holiday. However we did notice that the ship (Navigator of the Seas) had been damaged on the previous cruise and under gone emergency repairs in Vigo. The itinerary changed again immediately before sailing, the weather had changed again! Now Gran Canaria, Private Island in the Caribbean, Port Canaveral and Miami. On boarding our cabin was neither cleaned or made up. It was fit for habitation after sailing ( 4 hours later) We complained twice, the housekeeper should have met us in the cabin but did not arrive either time. We were not offered a clean cabin, although the ship was half empty- lots of people had unsurprisingly cancelled. The good things, the cabin was kept clean and was comfortable, after the initial fiasco. The food and service in both restaurants was great. The entertainment was good and there was always plenty of space in the theatre, the ice show was particularly spectacular. The poor things were the management of the whole cruise, the right hand did not know what the left was doing. We did not get to the private island, you' re guessed it he weather was to blame! We went to Grand Bahama instead, where our courtesy buses transported half the passengers of a Carnival cruise while we waited in baking sun, until someone decided to check the cruise cards. Divers went down twice in the UK and Gran Canaria , to check the area that was damaged I can only suppose. We made two written complaints via our travel agent to Royal Caribbean Cruises, neither has even been acknowledged. This holiday was the start of my retirement, thanks for that Royal Caribbean.
