A cruise to remember forever.
It's getting hard to remember when we last had a holiday as so many have been cancelled. There is one however that we'll never forget. Last year we booked a Regent Seven Seas cruise to the Med. I speak for both of us when I say I could complete this review in two words - 'everything fabulous'. From the time of booking to the moment we arrived home everything ran like clockwork. We chose Voyager, a beautiful ship in every way, all spacious staterooms with balconies and beautifully furnished. The staff excelled in their efforts to please and appeared to know everyone's name after just a few hours. Regent's cruises include everything from free fine wines and spirits, free excursions to free entry to 'specialist' restaurants. I had no favourite restaurant. They all qualify for A**. Food was superb and service first rate. The theatre shows were most entertaining and drinks of your choice were served their as soon as you sat down. I recall on the second night the same bartender approached and asked if we would like the same as last night and he reeled off what we had ordered previously, down to the ice and lemon. I was sooo impressed with that. They really make you feel special. I don't participate much in onboard activities so I cannot make a fair comment. What I saw in passing appeared to be well received by other travellers. The free excursions were well planned. There was time to explore alone at each stop and excursions were categorised by degrees of difficulty so passengers could choose what best suited their own physical ability. I have booked three more with Regent since the one two years ago but sadly because of COVID two have been cancelled. I have another due in January to Brazil though I'm not holding my breath for that one. I have another booked for next May to the Med again. Maybe we'll be lucky with that one. The cruises are a little pricier than the vast majority but I find Regent goes the extra mile and provides excellent value for money. Incidentally, cancelled cruises with them can be refunded (quite quickly too) or transferred with special additions to compensate for disruption. For the one booked for next March, we each received 125% transfer value from the previous cruise cancelled, plus free $1000 onboard spend per stateroom. There's not too much to spend it on though as everything is included anyway. I guess I'll buy a few special clothes, pamper myself in the Spa, maybe buy more jewellery and pay a few visits to the hairdresser. I might buy my other half a book to keep him occupied while I go on my spending spree!!! In a nutshell, wonderful holiday.
