This was our first time in S.E. Asia and our first time cruising with Princess. The Sapphire Princess is a beautiful ship with great activities and facilities that exceeded expectations. Unlike some other cruise lines, we were able to access our stateroom as soon as we boarded the ship and the luggage was delivered within 90 minutes – we could begin our holiday immediately. We dined each evening in the International Dining Room and the food and service were excellent. The waiter went to great lengths to ensure everyone was happy. Horizon Court, the self-service restaurant, was well run, it had an air of calm and never felt crowded even when busy. The great variety of food was well presented and was well-cooked and tasty, we even had the opportunity to try some foods for the first time, e.g., Jack fruits which were delicious. It was good to see a cruise ship serving local produce. The coffee shop was a great “chill out” zone after a hard-day’s sightseeing or sunbathing. We used the coffee card we purchased enjoying a cappuccino or a refreshing iced coffee and indulging in one of the deliciously tempting sweet treats while listening to live music. ‘Movies Under the Stars’ is a great facility and provided us with an opportunity to view new releases We lazed under the evening sky, stars twinkling away, on a cruise ship in the South China Sea watching “The Theory of Everything. Wow! In addition, the selection of very recently released movies on the in-room TV service was an added pleasure and provided a welcome respite from the mid-day heat. Our stateroom had the most spacious clothes storage area we have ever had on a cruise ship. Our Stateroom Attendant’s attention to detail was second to none. The itinerary was the reason we chose this holiday and the ports of call were excellent, ships tours were well run and well organised and had the right amount of information and good balance of group activities and free time. Visas and landing cards for the ports of call were organised by the ship and it was a nice surprise when we got our passports back at the end of cruise and saw all the border control stamps without having had to stand in line once! This was a truly relaxing and memorable holiday. Well done Princess and thank you, we’ll definitely be back.
