Great for first time cruising
This was my 7th Cruise but first time on the Britannia. Ive done this cruise 3 times before so didnt bother to get off the ship this time , instead I decided to go to a meeting (as advertised in the ships daily letter ) on metabolism . After waiting for nearly half hr with 7 other people a steward came down to say he couldnt find the personal trainer who was going to give the talk and someone would come and explain. Someone came and apologised and said to compensate he would offer each of us a free one to one consultation (worth 67 each) he then booked us in one by one. My friend and I went together , the personal trainer was very good and explained in great detail ( over one hour) how the body works etc. Then came the crunch .... if you wanted to speed up you metabolism and clean yourself out then be prepared to spend min 170 or Max 480!!!! We declined and glad I did as I have suffered from under active thyroid for over 10 years and when I got home I did some research on some of the products he was selling , which included things I should avoid with my condition ... The ship was lovely , it was a first cruise for my friend but she felt it was too big and overwhelming , she wasnt a fan of the lifts with lots of people queuing etc. The food was lovely, staff excellent very friendly and helpful . I would always recommend early dining especially if your on freedom dining we got there as soon as they opened at 6.15pm no queues and plenty of time to get a seat to watch the shows. Disembarking was quick and easy because we choose to carry off our own cases. After we had breakfast at 6.30am we were off the ship before 8am , saves hanging around for your allocated disembarking time . We were on E deck 10 Cabin 448 very nice and very smooth. Great entertainment and lots to choose from .
