First time cruisers

We set sail from Miami on NCL getaway, we were in awe of the ship with no idea what to expect. Our room was fab we chose a balcony cabin it had plenty of room with great bathroom. The ship itself was great you could dress up or down what ever took your fancy. We found lots to do in the evenings and although it held over 3000 passengers it never felt like it, you could always get a sun bed in the adults only area. Food on board was plentiful with plenty of restaurants to choose from I think something like 15-17 in total. The only complaint we had was when our excursion got cancelled due to bad weather and it got a bit chaotic but it turned out to be a beautiful day and we caught a taxi and spent a day in Costa Maya. A must visit destination is Honduras, it was sad to see the poverty there however you can see the benefits the cruise ships have on the economy. The beach visit there was incredible and the people were fabulous and friendly. Our final desitinaton was Cozumel with a catamaran beach cruise where we met some amazing Americans on board who were very excited to meet us Brits. We learnt to paddle board and attempted the inflatables at sea something we would never have done before. All in all we had the most amazing holiday in the Caribbean occasionally you could feel some movement of the ship but the majority of the time it was great and a visit to reception gave us sea sickness tablets which worked straight away. We had the all inclusive drinks package which I must say the cocktails were yummy and managed to get through quite a few of them over the week. As a couple of adults on holiday without our children ( who are now grown up) we were amazed that you hardly saw children around the ship unless you went to the kiddies pool area. The adults pool was amazing real party atmosphere we stood by a watched the entertainment for some time, people really do know how to party. My favourite part of the ship was the comedy bar during the evening where we would go and watch he duelling pianos fabulous entertainment til the early hours. Would I cruise again? You bet I would even though it is a little expensive but best holiday ever.
