MSC Carribean Jan 10th 2019
MSC Divina Firstly, positive, cruise staff, very welcoming and friendly, namely, Carlos,, Whalley, Uma, Kayla and Richard, Kelsey. Sinan, the cruise director did a decent job even though he had only been on the ship a couple of weeks. Entertainment was mostly OK, although we are very easily pleased and not complainers. Food is mediocre but you can always find something to eat, fruit and veg always looked fresh. The ship was always clean, found all staff friendly, although I am not sure about the cruise concierge for booking another cruise, we found him a bit offish. Dining room staff very friendly and wanted to do their best for you, Amit and Marie especiallly, couldnt have been more helpful. Amit kept Bob updated on the latest cricket score everyday for three weeks. We had some Canadians sitting next to us who complained about everything, always sending food back, the staff handled it well, we thought they must be mystery shoppers! Negatives, Sun beds are a bit of a problem, people save them for hours without using them. Saving tables in dining room was a problem, people do not want to share a table, we saw people put plates of food to make it look as if someone was sitting there but no one turned up, when people asked if they could sit there they just said no. Some people are just very rude. We wondered why there are teamaking facilities in the cabin on the Splendida but not on Divina, we were unwell for a few days and could really have done with a kettle, a definite negative. Comments,, we would like to have seen more entertainment by the pool in the evenings, the nights there were, were very successful. We would like to have seen a bit more lively entertainment in the Atrium, we were on Divina last November and tribute nights were great. The ABBA tribute was very enjoyable. We Felt toilet rolls were rationed! We resorted to taking a spare off the trolley and putting it in our safe! We could not understand why you have to pay for a mini bar if you have a drinks package, surely safer than carrying drinks about the ship back to your room. Reception member of staff who gave us a five minute courtesy phone call to check on Bobs mother after we had a strange text was very much appreciated. I would prefer to see teaspoons as opposed to the waste plastic in using straws in dining room. There was an appalling waste of food, by fellow passengers, just beyond us that people take so much and then leave it. Breakfast cereals were more aimed at children, would like to see muesli, all bran, and special k was not special k but cornflakes, porridge oats. One day we took the sheet off the bed as we were not well and we both had temperatures, the mattress topper was filthy, very disappointing as otherwise it all seemed very clean. All in all we will not stop travelling with MSC again, you get what you pay for.
