Cruise Reviews
Such disappointment
We excitedly joined the maiden voyage on 4th March 2019, on MSC Bellissima, we have cruised before but never on a brand-new ship.
Embarkation was easy, cases were taken from us as soon as we pulled up in a taxi, we boarded the ship and our first words were WOW, its amazing
That was the last time WOW was used.
We sailed away on time, but there was no announcement from the captain, no sounding of the horn absolutely nothing!
We were headed to La Coruna, but due to bad weather the decision was made to go straight to Lisbon again no announcement from the captain, it was put onto the TV screen in your cabin, so if you didnt turn your TV on you wouldnt have known.
The ship listed quite badly late on in the evening, causing glasses and bottles to smash in the bars and restaurants again no announcement from the captain, or for that matter the bridge to reassure the passengers.
We decided that we needed to make the best of this cruise as we had paid a lot of money, this proved difficult as there were so many annoyances Ive listed some below
Confusion over allowances on the drinks package
Small portions for the evening meal
Front quarter of the ship was out of bounds as it was for Yacht Club members only
Entertainment was poor you have to book your nightly show!
Hoards of travel reps boarded at every port to view the ship
Lack of seating in bar areas
No Library
No games room
Too many extras that needed to be paid for
Hygiene in our cabin well below expected standard
No announcements from the bridge or the captain
Muster station safety brief sheer chaos, no life jackets in the cabin, they will be handed out in the case of an emergency REALLY !!
Cirque De Solei only two shows as they were not ready so we couldnt book it
Formal nights/Elegant Evening very hit and miss
Hopefully the captain and the crew will learn from their mistakes during their maiden voyage.
If this is the way forward for cruising this may be out last.
