This was the second time we sailed on MS Trollfjord and it was lovely to be back. Once again we were going in search of the Northern Lights and weren't disappointed. To see the lights there was the option of having a message from the bridge relayed to the cabin to let you know that the lights were visible. If you wanted to go up on deck it was a rush to pull on warm clothes and set off upstairs. We saw the Lights on most nights. We were in a mini suite for the first half of the journey but then had the opportunity to upgrade to a large suite which was like a first class hotel. We had picture windows from floor to ceiling enabling us to see all the magnificent Norwegian scenery. The sitting area consisted of a sofa, 2 arm chairs, table, TV etc etc. the bedroom was divided off by curtains and consisted of a very large bed, bedside tables and various cupboards. The bathroom had a bath, loo, whb and walk in shower with lovely toiletries and there was a separate walk in cupboard. Very spacious. We were each given (to take home) rugs, binoculars, dressing gown & slippers, toiletries and more. Enough of the suite! Trollfjord has a large lounge to relax in and enjoy the outside world through panoramic windows. There were other smaller lounges, a WiFi area, library, gym, sauna, 2 jacuzzi pools. The dining room was large with open seating for breakfast and lunch with 'help yourself' food and a set table for dinner with a set menu. The food was very varied and delicious. A lot of fish dishes which is normal in Norway but a good variety of other dishes.MS Trollfjord is a working ferry boat which cruises up and down the Norwegian coast calling into 34 ports. Sometimes we were only in port for about 10 minutes and other times up to a few hours which gave the chance to go ashore and sightsee, either on your own, or on a guided your. Getting to and from the ship was easy with a courtesy coach from and to Bergen airport. I thoroughly recommend travelling on this ship or one of Hurtigruten's other vessels.
