Cruise Elements:

Quality of Food:
The food was excellent on board and the restuarant was pleasant. Fish was usually the main course for dinner. A full English breakfast was provided .The lunches were excellent and varied
Entertainment:
There was live entertainment each evening and a Gala Dinner was provided together with a drinks party with the captain.
Shore Excursions:
The trip to Kuchen Gardens was very colourful and interesting. The trip to the Royal Palace was excellent with plenty of time to see everything. The Amsterdam canal trip was unsatisfactory as most of it was after dark with no chance to explore the atmosphere of Amsterdam
Staff:
The staff were friendly and helpful and they provided an excellent service
Childrens Activities:
Not really suitable for children and there was no provision for their entertainment or facillities
Onboard Activities:
Not very extensive except for dining and evening entertainment
Cabins:
The lower cabin was small dark and cramped and below the quay level. The second cabin at high level with patio doors was lighter and not as cluostophibic as the lower cabin
The four day cruise started with coach travel from Dover. Due to delays picking up passengers we missed the ferry resulting in a four hour late arrival in Amsterdam . Everything was rushed and we set sail after breakfast for the Zidderzee and a port on the River Zidder but had little time to explore the area. We had a coach trip to see the Royal Palace next day. We then sailed on to another interesting port with a long excursion to Kuthenhof Gardens which were very interesting. We had little time to explore this small port In the evening and early next day we sailed back to Amsterdam and moored in a Commercal Dock over one hours coach trip from the city. It was not a pretty area and we could not leave the boat. We arrived late evening in the city to join a canal trip and could see little of the canal side buildings in the dusk. There was no opportunity to explore the old city and enjoy the atmosphere, every thing was rushed. Our cabin was small and dark and below the level of quay making it very cluostophibic. We demanded to be moved to a higher cabin with patio doors above quay level. Everyone on board was very friendly and helpful ,the food entertainment and facillities on board were excellent. We were told the captain had to dock were he was instructed ,however we consider that the port arrangements were to save cost as all the other river cruise boats were moored in the centre of the old city giving guest the opportunity to explore the centre and experience the atmosphere of Amsterdam. The trip did not live up to its promised expectations and too much time was spent on coach travel from the ports of call to the attractions and on the coach journey to and from Dover with no time to stop over at any area to break up the journey. It would have been easier to fly to Amsterdam from London which would have given time to explore Amsterdam after arrival and before departure. As stated everything was rushed due to delays with coach transport and the overall experience was dissapointing and not up to expectations. It would appear that the main objective was to keep guest on the boat as long as possible. The port arrangements were very poor resulting in considerable delays.
