It is likely not the fault of the ship if baggage is misplaced in New York (Brooklyn). Last year we disembarked there and there were many people who had at least one piece of luggage that was not where it was supposed to be. After getting some help to look for one of ours I spotted it (we deliberately bought luggage of ugly colour!) but it was behind a fence. We were told we could not fetch it until the fence was moved. Apparently they remove the fences as passengers on various decks are permitted to go ashore. There was a lot of misplaced luggage and for that reason the coach connections were all held. If I ever disembark in New York again I will do self-help as some of those highly-paid stevedores appear to be incompetent.

When I heard the Rolling Stones were...

I have written about the subject of wheelchair accessible cabins (or lack of them) before, but more recently the subject has reared its ugly head again. Just as an example, the Cunard Line Queen Mary 2 has 1310 cabins on board, approximately 30 of which are wheelchair accessible, thats just over 2% of all cabins. While 2% is in line with wheelchair user statistics among the general population I would have thought a product as conducive to this market as ex UK cruising would offer more dont yo...

As it’s her Birthday the day we fly we decided to have her party on Sunday it will only be close family and friends but we thought we would make it special since she wouldn’t be here on the day. I keep asking her what she wants and she says a cake (it will be a cheap birthday if I onl...
