Cruise Elements:

Quality of Food:
Outstanding food quality at every dining venue the best experience was at Prego, one of the speciality dining options and on our trip four free visits were included in the booking
Entertainment:
Most enjoyable were the in house production shows, and the guest singers. There were no bad performers that I saw on this trip
Shore Excursions:
A wine tasting trip to the cellars of a two Michelin Star restaurant on the Amalfi Coast
Staff:
Service was so good everywhere and would not want to pick any one person for special praise
Onboard Activities:
Ashore every day but one so little time to enjoy on board activities
Cabins:
Good facilities but smaller and more dated than expected
This was our first Crystal Cruise and certainly based on this trip will not be our last, The levels of service and food quality far exceeded any we have experienced before, our usual cruise line of choice Is Celebrity. All the food choices were of a very high standard with well presented fresh and where appropriate hot food. Wherever you went the food could not be faulted be it the self service buffet, the main restaurant or the two specialised restaurants. In fact the meal in the Prego specialised restaurant was really special and of Michelin star quality in my opinion. You must have the mushroom soup served in a large herb crusted roll if you ever get the chance ! As to service, there is such a high ratio of staff to guests and I suppose that is why the service is so good, no waiting times anywhere, always someone on hand to help and everyone on board seemed to want to help, nothing was too much trouble. This particular voyage was "Passion du Grand Prix" and included three days in Monte Carlo for the Monaco Formula One Grand Prix, what an experience that was. Other ports of call were well chosen and in fourteen nights on board only one day was spent at sea, resulting in lots to see and do every day. The sightseeing activities arranged by the ship were in my opinion generally overpriced. An example of this was a visit to watch the Grand Prix, my ticket "bought on line " was $440.00 their "trip" a 20 minute walk to sit in the same grandstand alongside me was $1000.00 even with the seat cushion and packed lunch included with the Crystal trip that a big mark up !!! The entertainment on board was good with live shows every night and good quality visiting singers and entertainers also tea dances ,piano and a string quartet entertaining in different areas of the ship every day. The Ship is twenty years old and although immaculately maintained is dated compared to say Celebrity, the staterooms are also smaller than I would expect on a ship today. All that being said the food quality service and overall quality provided means I will be back with Crystal again
