Fabulous. Very well laid out. Wonderful walk in wardrobe
Just before Christmas I was on the Amadeus Silver II sailing from Vienna to Nuremberg. The cruise was to visit lots of little Christmas markets at the villages along the Danube. On boarding the ship I was shown to my cabin on the middle deck. It was beautiful. I had a large panoramic window that opened, with a flick of a switch, giving the impression of a French balcony. There was a lovely large walking in wardrobe, a fabulous bathroom with ample toiletries, and one of the best showers I have ever experienced. There was a small fridge, a hairdryer and a telephone. The bed was very comfortable with lovely crisp white bedding. The food on board was amazing. Buffet style breakfast with hot and continental options. Lunch was part buffet and part waiter/waitress served. Dinner was all served. There was an amazing cheese board each evening. Regional delicious wines were served with dinner. The staff could not do enough for the passengers, they were so helpful and always with a smile on their faces. The ship was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees, fairy lights and stunning decorations. There was a large lounge and also a smaller lounge at the back with a coffee machine, and cookies to tempt anyone that wanted a nibble in between meals. There were plenty of seats on the sun deck but as it was just above freezing the only times we ventured up was to take photographs or video beautiful towns like Linz, as we sailed through on an evening with various buildings changing colours as we passed. The places we visited usually had a guided walking tour followed by a Christmas market. Vienna, Passau and Nuremberg markets were all lovely but the market in the grounds of the Thurn und Taxis Palace, at Regensberg, was just magical. The passengers were American, Australian, Japanese, Canadian and British. The cruise was wonderful and I would definitely sail with Amadeus again.....hopefully later this year to visit the Rhine Christmas markets.
