Cruise Reviews
Amadeus Brilliant Lived Up To Her Name
My husband and I have just returned from a week cruising the Danube on Amadeus Brilliant, it was our first river cruise having before done ocean cruises, but I must say we really enjoyed it. The weather was fantastic. We started and ended at Passau,a lovely town, in between we called at Vienna twice, Bratislava, Budapest and Emmersdof. Vienna was marvellous, the evening concert wonderful, Budapest and the horses were not to be missed, Bratislava came as a surprise, it was lovely and Emmersdof village was very pretty with a lovely church. We did some of the excursions which were well organised with knowledgeable guides, but rushed as they left a lot of time for shopping. Our cabin a French balcony, was good, smaller than a cruise ship, but that is to be expected, but the bathroom was the best we have ever had, quite big with a double shower with doors and kept spotless. Not a lot of storage space, but that could just be me as I don't travel light. The boat itself was again lovely, very clean and all the staff very friendly, helpful and attentive. Not a lot of on board entertainment, but what their was, was enjoyable. The food on the whole was very good and the wine waiter never left you with an empty glass. We were on a table for 6 and our table companions made meal times most enjoyable. The only downside was the company that they used for the transfers, we had a long wait at the airport before been transferred to the boat and an even longer wait to be transferred for our return flight which we nearly missed. Would we do it again, you bet we would.
