NCL… Taking the fun out of cruising?

What are the little cruising traditions that over the years you have come to love and remember ?

For some guests they remember the big things, Sail away parties on top deck or the Baked Alaska parade but currently one much loved cruise traditions is under jeopardy with Norwegian Cruise lines as they are trailing a BAN on towel animals!!!!!!!

Yes you read that right……………soon coming back to your cabin after day round the pool and finding a charming little elephant or dog skilfully created by your cabin steward may sadly be a thing of the past.

Their reasoning behind this move is to reduce the amount of time crew are taking to make their little pieces of art plus they feel it is a waste of water as once made they have to be washed again.

A spokesperson from the line said, “We are committed to being a responsible corporate citizen by fostering a culture of awareness and respect for our world’s resources. Our mission is to continually improve our sustainability culture through fresh innovation, progressive education and open collaboration.

“As such, from time to time we explore opportunities to expand our efforts. In this instance, we are assessing the impact of reducing the number of towel animals we showcase aboard a few of our ships. We understand that many of our guests enjoy them as part of the experience of cruising with us so towel animals remain available upon request.”

Personally I think NCL are being mean, these cute little tokens i’m told crew love making as much as guest love to receiving. Are they really hurting anyone???????????

Currently this look to be isolated just to NCL no other cruise lines such as P&O, RCCL, Disney or MSC Have made similar announcements ………….COME ON NCL STOP BEING MISOGS give us back the towel crocs !!!!!!!!

So what do you think?

I this move by NCL a step too far?

Will you miss this little tradition when cruising with NCL?

Tell me what you think? Better still post some photos of your favourite towel creations crew have left for you on my Facebook page.

Until Next time
