The Life Of A Cruise Agent

Lunch with a Queen

We were lucky enough to be invited to have lunch on board the Queen Mary in Southampton recently, I was very happy to go as I have not been on board this ship, I could bore you with lots of photographs but thought I would share some of the highlights and at the same time give you a small insight into this wonderful ship.

Arriving in southampton, and I am often asked “how far is the car park” will this give you a clue ? We were in the short stay parking, but the longer stay is not much further.

I have sold the Sheltered cabins on numerous occasions and struggle to find pictures, so one of my colleagues kindly posed at the railing to give you an idea of this layout, I have given you the cabin number too ! I think on a transatlantic voyage this is quite a nice balcony to have ?

The overall impression for me was of colonial comfort, lots of wood panelling and rich dark carpets, one or two people thought that it may be time for a spruce up here and there, though I think the lived in feel is all part of the Cunard experience. We all went off  for a wonderful lunch at one of the speciality restaurants at the rear of the Ship next to the Terrace pool. Todd English has a calm and relaxing atmosphere, its not as big as I imagined so I would think booking is essential. The staff were all extremely pleasant and friendly and the service impeccable.

All in all it was a lovely day, have a look at some more pictures.
