The Life Of A Cruise Agent

GOODBYE Independence for 2020

Well what a turn-up and shake up for Southampton this week, Royal Caribbean really throwing a spanner in the works for us in 2020

Now, all we have left is Anthem, and the talk is going all around the houses !! Is this a move by Royal Caribbean to fill the Anthem, knowing there are stacks of people that don’t like to fly.

Indy (as affectionately known to her followers) has a very loyal customer base, and I think this is going to upset a few of them, in fact, I know it is, I have a number of passengers that were travelling in August 2020 where she was doing the Baltics, Anthem is not doing this itinerary at all in the school holidays, so I have nothing to offer as a replacement.

There are also no added extras at the moment, as my passengers booked early and all got the drinks package, onboard credit, and really good prices, these extras are not being transferred to new bookings.

So basically they are offering cancellation FOC and the 25% of the cruise value as a future cruise credit (FCC), this can be used within the next two years, only on RCI, as there is a Celebrity ship in Southampton, while they are the same group, transfer of this credit will not be allowed.

So if you don’t like the Anthem Itineraries, and you only want Southampton, it’s just not going to happen !! at least not in 2020, and not with Royal Caribbean, so hold on to your credit notes and wait for 2021 to be released?

On a happier note, I am off to the Edge on Monday for two lovely nights, looking forward to seeing this amazing new chip from Celebrity, look out for overload on pictures and maybe even try a video or two!!

Watch out for the next blog !!
