Back from Escape

I am back now after a one night visit on the wonderful Norwegian Escape and it was absolutely amazing. We checked in at Southampton in ease, no queues or anything like that, as it should be and you trust the Americans to look after you. As soon as we were on board we could feel how big is that ship. We headed first to the Garden Cafe for a buffet lunch and the place is huge. It’s contemporary in design and built with seating areas both sides of the ship with lots of tables and serving areas and also a bar in the middle in case you fancy a drink or two with your meal. The food is excellent as I expected from NCL and there is a wide choice as well to suit everyone.

After lunch we walked around exploring and the first this you notice is the huge water park, water slides and pools on the top deck and the sports complex that includes the ropes adventure and the Plank. They also have a full basketball court. They also have a bowling alley indoors and a massive video arcade.

Outside on the deck they have the Waterfront which is a walk outside where you can see the restaurants and bars and they also have outside seating areas, it’s almost like being outside on a town.Then its the number of bars and entertainment hangouts is amazing, so many places you can go out and watch live music or a comedy such as the Headliners Comedy club, the Supper club and the main Theatre ofcourse. The cabin we got was an inside but although is a compact cabin the design is very good and gives you plenty of space of storage, the only point is wardrobe storage which is limited.

In the evening we dined at Cagney’s Steakhouse which was fantastic. The steaks are out of this world. It is a speciality restaurant that instead of a cover charge have prices on the menu which means you pay for what you order. Prices are reasonable and a large fillet steak will cost you $25. I think it’s a fantastic ship if you love the big ones which I do and I would love to sail on it in the future!
