What happens on board stays on board…. Allegedly!

Apparently When they say anything that happens at sea stays at sea or anything that happens on a cruise stays on a cruise. You get the gist. Well, according to some news reports if you do get up to a bit of hanky panky when you shouldn’t be it doesn’t stay on board it will reach the local papers.

This just so happens to be the case for a mysterious woman and allegedly an employee of the cruise line. The cruise happens to be the NCL Pearl departing Singapore to Thailand recently. I’ve found this story to be quite interesting and amusing to say the least. There’s a twits to this for sure. You don’t board a ship and expect to walk into your cabin and find a couple clearly at it. However according to the Jackson’s this is exactly what happened. I’m sure the cruise line has strict rules of their staff engaging as I should say with any guest on board. Assuming this woman in question was a guest and also not an employee.

The Jackson’s had apparently boarded the ship and went to their cabin and walked in on the crew member and his lady friend. They say they’re not prudish but were very shocked and needed a glass of water. I suppose at their age I can accept that because lets face it had it been a slightly younger couple with today’s society a camera phone would have been out and pictures immediately circulating all over social media.

The twist is that NCL are apparently doing there own investigations and having done a little, the CCTV doesn’t seem to collaborate the guests allegations. Now, come on would you really make a story up like that or have NCL just denied it due to embarrassment? The Jackson’s have been offered £200pp as a future cruise credit towards another NCL sailing. A nice gesture, an admittance of guilt make of it as you will. I don’t see how they can offer compensation if no offence has been committed, especially if you say you have viewed the CCTV and it doesn’t collaborate their story.

Of course I wouldn’t want to walk in a cabin and catch anyone at it, especially as I’m expecting to see my cabin made up, with fresh sheets and all clean and tidy ready for my stay. If it did happen to me I would probably have had to laugh and insist on the bed being re-made but I don’t think I would have asked for financial compensation or to move cabins. Were you on board on this sailing last October? Did you hear the rumours around the ship, if so do feel free to share your comments.

So, unlike Vegas where whatever happens in Vegas stays in Vegas it clearly doesn’t apply on board!
