Thomson Dream nearly a Nightmare

My first visit on the thomson Dream. June 2011. Having talked my Girlfriend into doing a Cruise, telling her what a wonderful experience she will have. Well her first time cruising was an experience. We arrived in Palma and departed for a week in the Mediterranean.  Not long left Palma, all going well when we stopped about an hour off shore. The inner doors were being closed, smoke could be seen in the gangways and we were told to get our life jackets and report to our muster stations. Me, calm as you like, my Girlfriend not so. Panic set in, reminding me she’s seen Titanic and she shouldn’t have said she’s go on a Cruise. You can imagine what I was going through.

Anyway all ended being a false alarm. There was no fire and it was just the gases had leaked from the refrigerators onboard. Phew. Allowed to go back to our cabins and get ready for dinner. The rest of the week was beautiful weather and we had an amazing time.

The Dream in my opinion certainly isn’t as glamerous as the likes of Royal Caribbean ships etc but when it comes to the service and food. Probably the best i’ve experienced at sea. More so than on Royal Caribbean or Celebrity. Staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble and the food just superb. She maybe a smaller ship and a bit of Thomson Gold at sea but sometimes when it comes to Food, Service and West End style shows she’s hard to beat. For a first time stepping stone into the world of Cruises, the Thomson dream is a good choice.
