I’m moving….

I’m moving. No, not leaving the company but moving house. It may not seem a big deal to many but to me it’s been a long time coming. Currently been at my present address for 10 years but I need a bigger home so once I’d been to see the estate agents back in February and a deposit followed in March, I was expecting to move into this new build by the 25th June. Little did I know that there was previous delays and the development site should have actually been ready by April. Yes, It’s December approaching and it really is that far behind.

I’ve been frustrated all year from the initial promised date of the 25th June to then being put back to the 3rd August, followed by the 31st August, 28th September, 13th November and finally being given a guaranteed move in date of the 7th December. Deep breath and a big sigh of relief but shall I hold my breath?

They say moving can be quite stressful, a bit like booking a holiday. except if you book a cruise with me of course then no stress at all. Just remember that. I think after I’ve moved in I’m going to need a cruise and i could have gone one a week alter with my work on our annual Christmas conference but with plans all over the place I’ve had to turn it down. Though sometimes, I wish I was still going. A few nights at sea sounds quite bliss right now.

I’m a patient person and I haven’t minded the wait so much, it was just the knowing. I do believe the builders have been rather slack and it would have been nice to have been told in advance that it’s more than likely going to be the end of the year. The biggest frustration for me was ordering new furniture and doing so with plenty of time, being told it’ll be 13 weeks and you think great that’s just when I’m going to be moving. Then comes the delays and I’m now being charged storage fees as they’ve been ready to deliver to me for ages. Can’t blame them but I should perhaps pass on the fees!

Come next month, hopefully I’ll be in and no more last minute hiccups and I can start a fresh and put this year behind me. I can’t believe it’s been over a year since I got married in Florida, blimey time really does just pass you by quick. I’m looking forward to Christmas in my new home. Though there won’t be any building of a grotto this year. I just won’t have time. Perhaps next year when I’m settled. I’m looking forward to next year, new cruise ships being launched, some new to Southampton and a lot of changes with some abolishing gratuities and I have two cruises booked to look forward to. Royal Caribbean in May and a Celebrity Cruise in September. More on those later.

I’ll be saying next year I can’t believe how quick it’s gone again. It’s been a busy year so I just need to chill out now and carry on cruising.
