We flew out to Orlando a couple of days before we cruised to adjust to the time difference and make sure we were fresh for joining the ship. I had booked this all through Royal Caribbean so this meant they organised the hotel and transfers.
On arrival to Orlando we had a taxi to take us to our hotel. This was great after a long journey – air conditioning well appreciated as it was so hot when we landed! The transfer took us to the Westgate Villas & Spa Hotel which was HUGE. It was a massive complex which we really didn’t realise until the following morning. We were taken to our massive two bedroom villa and it was early nights all round.
The next day we explored the hotel complex and got to see how big it was. I can definitely recommend it as it was in a great location and the villas were lovely. We had a full kitchen, living room, the two bedrooms and three bathrooms! We went for a lovely lunch at the American Bar and a couple of wines before we decided to spend the afternoon by the pool. Today was very hot so we spent our time in and out of the pool. It was full of kids so Millie made lots of new friends – it was a shame really that we were only there for the day. At night we watched a movie in the room and had some take out. it was lovely and relaxing. We then had an early night getting ready for our cruise.
We were up early on the Sunday as Royal had arranged a car for us at 11am to take us to the port. Kevin and Millie went exploring and to get Mummy a coffee while I got ready. We packed quickly and then headed to the lobby with our cases. Sure enough like clockwork it was waiting for us at reception. We met our driver and then headed off for the next part of our exciting trip!!!
