As you read this I will be on my last overseas trip of the year! Not as exotic as the Caribbean and no cruise this time but myself and Kevin are heading to the beautiful Italian city of Rome. I usually like to head to London this week of the year but Rome was a steal we couldn’t resist it.
We are flying from Manchester early Monday morning so will have headed down there on Sunday to have an overnight stay – saves all of the hassle of driving down in the morning and worrying about something happening to the car or delays on the road. We have booked the airport lounge at Manchester – a must in my eyes! This means we can have a couple of drinks and a snack knowing we don’t have to be paying a small fortune for it.
Monday is a free day for us so we will have time to explore the city ourselves. We are fairly confident travellers and Kevin is fluent in Italian so I am sure we will have a good time navigating. Tuesday we will be up early for a walking tour which we have booked – taking us around all the big sights. I hope the weather is kind to us! We have the opera that evening and a nice dinner planned. On Wednesday we will be up super early for an audience with the Pope which I am really looking forward to. I don’t know why but I have always wanted to meet the Pope so this should be good. Now I won’t be able to understand a word he says but I am sure his presence will be felt. We have another nice dinner planned Wednesday night.
We fly home Thursday back to reality and then to get Christmas finished off. This year has just went past in a flash!
