Want To Cruise As A Single Traveller? Here Are My Top Tips

Holidaying alone can be a daunting experience, especially if you have always been away with somebody in the past. I personally would be worried about feeling isolated on my holiday and worried that I would end up stuck in my room using room service!

Cruising is the perfect solution. Everything is arranged for you from meals to excursions to activities on board. It’s also easy to find company on a cruise ship as there are lots of activities and excursions you can join in with where you will meet other people who are, pardon the pun, in the same boat!

The last thing I would want to do if I am booking a cruise for a single traveler is for them to feel they will not enjoy their holiday as they will not have anyone to talk to or enjoy activities with.

Here are my Top Tips for anyone thinking of setting out on a single traveler’s adventure on board a cruise ship.

Tip 1 – Choose The Right Ship For You

I would always recommend doing a bit of research in to what different ships and different cruise lines can offer you as a single traveler. All ships come in different shapes and sizes so it is best to make sure you are choosing the right ship for you.  The benefit of the smaller liners is that you are more likely to bump in to the same people throughout the holiday, where as the larger liners have many more passengers so sometimes you may not see the same face twice.

Tip 2 – Speak Up!

I would recommend speaking to the Cruise Director when you get on board and let them know you are looking to meet other like minded single travelers.  They will be able to direct you to the places to go to meet other single cruisers for get togethers. Before you know it you will be enjoying social evenings on board with cocktail in hand. Karaoke anyone?

Tip 3 – Join The Group

I say to any single traveler on a cruise to throw themselves in to the activities on board a cruise. There are so many different activities and experiences you can have on a cruise ship that you would not always get the chance to do at home so go for it. You will soon be making new friends.

These are just three of the top tips I can give you if you are thinking about booking a cruise on your own.

If you decide to bit the bullet and go for it then contact me and I will be happy to help you with any questions you may have.

Happy Cruising!
