Royal Caribbean Independence Of The Seas – an Oldie But a Goodie!

This particular ship is my personal favourite.  I have been on three Royal Caribbean Cruises and Independence Of The Seas was the best one for me.  I would like to explain why

Firstly I would like to give you some quick facts about this beautiful ship:

  • Maiden Voyage – May 2nd 2008
  • Refurbished – April 2013
  • 1,112 feet long
  • 15 decks
  • 4375 guests
  • 1360 crew

I sailed on this ship on the 2nd July 2016 from Southampton sailing around the Mediterranean for two weeks.  In my party there were my parents and son.  My parents had a Suite and my son and I had a Balcony Cabin.

There are so many facilities on board with something for everyone.  The Royal Promenade has shops, bars, coffee shops and information centres.

There are restaurants that can cater for every taste.  The main dining room serves up superb quality food.  On formal nights the atmosphere is fantastic with everyone dressed up for the occasion. Chops Grille and Giovannis are the speciality restaurants that are worth a visit.  A top tip is to book these prior to boarding as often there are special offers so you can use the restaurants more than once.

Independence Of The Seas is a family ship and the children love the kids club on board.  While the children are busy being entertained by the fully qualified staff the parents have the chance to unwind and relax by the pool or have a pampering session in the spa.

If you are travelling without children there is an adult only area which has its own pool and a bar.

Hopefully from what I have mentioned here you will agree with me and want to book a cruise on this stunning amazing ship.
