P&O Cruise Loyalty Scheme…All You Need To Know

Hi everyone.  How many of you have cruised more than once with P&O?  Are you aware that after your first cruise you are automatically enrolled in their loyalty programme?

For this blog I am going to explain how the P&O Loyalty Programme works.

Their loyalty scheme is called the Peninsular Club.  There are six tiers which are named after oceans and seas cruised on by P&O.

How It Works – For each night you spend on board you will be awarded 10 loyalty points.  Once you have spent at least 15 nights on board you automatically become a member of the Peninsular Club.  Loyalty points are only rewarded once you have completed a cruise.

The Tiers:

Pacific Tier – 150-500 points – Benefits include cruise discounts and an exclusive member’s magazine

Atlantic Tier – 501-1000 points – receive all the above benefits plus 7.5% on board discount, dedicated loyalty manager, glass of champagne and Lapel Pin

Mediterranean Tier – 1001-2000 points – receive all the above benefits.  Your on board spend discount increases to 8.5% plus you also receive an invite to a cocktail party on cruises for 8 nights or more and a pair of P&O slippers

Caribbean Tier – 2001+ points – receive all the above benefits plus priority arrival time allocation, priority check in and a welcome on board reception

Baltic Tier – 2501+ points plus 80-200 nights on board in the last 3 years.  Receive all of the above benefits.  Your on board spend discount increases to 10%.  You also receive a complimentary half bottle of champagne per cabin and an Officer hosted fine dining event on cruises of 8 nights or more

Ligurian Tier – 2501+ points plus 201+ nights on board in the last 3 years.  Along with the above benefits you will have access to the Hospitality Lounge and priority disembarkation

Most passengers will dip in and out of the Baltic and Ligurian Tier.  With regards to the Baltic Tier if you do not spend at least 80 nights in the last 3 years on board you will move to the Caribbean Tier with the applicable benefits.  With regards to the Ligurian Tier if you do not spend at least 201 nights on board you move to the Baltic Tier with the applicable benefits.

Another big benefit if you manage to reach Baltic or Ligurian Tier is when P&O release their new cruise season you will have priority to book on these because they are released earlier to you before release to the lower tiers and general public.

If you are unsure of which tier you are in or have any questions regarding the Peninsular Club there is a dedicated phone number for this on their website or you can log in to your account on their website.

If you have cruised with P&O before I can check for you if you receive any additional discounts by searching for your loyalty number.

I hope this explains how this works for you.  If you have any questions please get in touch.

Until next time…..Happy Cruising!

  1. I think you will find that Caribbean level also has the opportunity to book earlier than the other grades!

  2. Why are P&O cruises recognised on Princess but not the other way around.
