Hurricaine Dorian causing Chaos in the Bahamas

If you have switched on the news this morning you will have awoken to the news the Bahamas has been hit by this Hurricaine. The storm killed at least five people when it hit the Abaco Islands at category five with 185mph winds. Its now headed towards the east coast of Florida and Miami Port is now closed to all traffic until the storm passes.

What does this mean for Cruise passengers?  The storm has caused many cancellations from all Major Cruise Lines as there ships have had to reroute to safer waters within the Caribbean.  Some passengers are now experiancing a much longer holiday with one ship Norwegian Breakaway that left Miami on the 25th of August now heading to New Orleans to allow passengers to disembark. We all sometimes say we would love an extra few days onboard at the end of a trip but in reality the chaos this would cause when you have flights, family and jobs to get back for.

Here at Cruise.co.uk we will be busy rearranging flights and booking hotels for customers who may be stranded or passengers whos cruises arer now cancelled. This is the major benefit of booking your cruise, flights and hotels as a package with ourselves.

The Hurricaine has also seen Royal Caribbean have to close there extremely poplular Perfect Day at the Coco Cay which is situated in the Bahamas as the 400 staff that work there needed to be evacuated to safety. This is reported to now be reopening on the 7th of September once damage has been assessed and its passed safety checks.
