As I am sure you know, I had the opportunity to go on a 2 night pre-launch sailing on P&O Britannia and I have to say it was an absolute ball!
My first impressions after boarding were that she is very stylish; some people have said that she isn’t as glamorous and glitzy as others; however she has a boutique hotel style which is unique. I do like that the décor is ‘less in your face’ than other ships I have been on, as I can find it a bit garish and prefer my surroundings to be a bit more relaxing. The shard in the atrium gives it that sparkle, but I think they have got it just right and didn’t overdo it!
I was fortunate enough to have a balcony cabin to share with my lucky sister. I don’t wish to sound ungrateful, but the balcony was the smallest I have ever seen on a ship. The first time I stepped out, I literally tripped over the table and bashed by shin into the chair! The cabin size was pretty standard I suppose and having tea and coffee facilities in your cabin is always a bonus! If you are looking to book a balcony cabin on this ship, I would recommend booking a Superior Deluxe grade to ensure you get a decent size.
Something new which I have not seen before was outside the buffet restaurant. Instead of the normal crew squirting hand sanitizer on your hands, there are long trough sinks where you are able to wash your hands. Good in theory, however when we were on board there was not anyone monitoring it and people were walking in an out without doing so… Norovirus waiting to happen…. I hope this is not the norm on official sailings.
Finally – Fancy a drool? Here are a few food pics 🙂
