MSC Magnifica will be sailing from the UK In 2021. The Italian cruise giant will be offering EX UK sailings solely for the British market meaning facilities, entertainment and food will be geared specifically towards UK guests. MSC has always had incredible ships though the one main bugbear of many clients trying MSC for the first time was the fact they offer such a European style of cruise, this is hardly surprising being an Italian cruise line, but with the Magnifica 2021 programme, this shouldn’t be an issue.
Not only will the 2021 sailings offer fantastic value for money, but the ship will also be getting a major facelift as well. The MSC Magnifica will be stretched by 23 meters ahead of her 2021 summer season from Southampton. The stretch project is valued at $140 million, according to company officials and the transformation will result in the addition of 215 extra cabins, bringing the total number of balcony cabins to 63% of the overall ship. As well as overall improved guest accommodations, an additional 800m2 of sundeck, a totally new water park, a redesigned kids area, plus additional features such as two new restaurants and a new shopping area will also be included in the refurbishment.
When work is completed, the MSC Magnifica will feature two new onboard environmental advances to complement a wide range of existing environmental technologies across the company’s entire fleet: a state-of-the-art Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) system and next-generation Advanced Wastewater Treatment (AWT) system. The ship will also get a shore-power system.
The UK summer season will run from May to October 2021, with cruises ranging from 2 to 14 nights, sailing to the Canary Islands and Madeira, the Mediterranean, Northern Europe and the Baltic.
