Cunard Offer New ‘World Of Drinks’ Packages.

With the majority of cruise lines now offering differing ‘Inclusive Drinks’ packages, it appears, of the major players,  only P&O Cruises and Cunard Line are yet to fall into line with the rest. Well, you can now tick one more of that list as Cunard Line has recently announced it too will be offering a greater selection of pre-bookable ‘Inclusive Drink’ options to its guests. You may have thought Cunard Line would be the last cruise line to offer an All Inclusive option given the target demographic and considered formality of their onboard cruise experience but as of now, the option is there.

Four drinks package options are now available to pre-book, details below. Package prices are inclusive of any onboard service charge previously tagged on to individual drink purchases.

Option 1 – Beers, Wines and Spirits package – $69 per guest per day which will include a large selection of drinks to include cocktails and liqueurs, up to $11 per serving and a discount of 20% off drinks over $11. Guests choosing this package will also get all the benefits of the Premium Soft Drinks Package.

Option 2 – Premium Soft Drinks Package – $29 per guest per day, soft drinks, small bottled waters, freshly squeezed juices, non-alcoholic cocktails and speciality hot drinks, and a 20% discount on any soft drinks not included in the package.

Option 3 – Soft Drinks Package – $10 per guest per day, draught soft drinks, selected fruit juices, squash and cordials.

Option 4 – Speciality Hot Drinks  – $15 per guest per day, unlimited speciality coffee’s, tea and hot chocolate.

Given the current exchange rate the Beers, Wines and Spirits package works out to approximately £53 per person per day.

So there you have it, another cruise line arguably encouraging increased alcohol consumption on board. I must admit I was a little surprised by the Cunard announcement but then again, I suppose those that like a drink, like to drink!

I’d love to hear your thoughts on the news, also do you feel £53 per person per day offers value for money?

Bye for now.
