Are you shore?!

Following on from my previous post about the crazy,  if ingenious, virtual balcony technology being rolled out on certain cruise ships I came across this. The Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht  in South Korea. This takes the whole virtual concept to a another level completely!

Take a look…….

The Sun Cruise Resort & Yacht in Jeongdongjin, South Korea, has become one of the country’s biggest tourist destinations, and is described  as “the world’s first on-land cruise themed resort”. If you suffer with sea sickness but always wanted to go on a cruise I suppose this is the perfect place for you (if you’d lost your marbles!).

The hotel and resort boasts two restaurants, a nightclub, a revolving bar, a wedding venue, and even a golf range. Its 211 rooms feature port holes to give an authentic experience and the piped soundtrack of bird calls adds to the illusion of being at sea, while the sounds of waves crashing against the ship are played out over loudspeakers.

Seriously….?!

A port hole for an authentic cruising experience?! I may be splitting hairs here but surely an authentic cruise experience would definitely involve some sort of water and, call me crazy, ….movement at the very least!  I appreciate the fact that hotels and resorts need to be unique in some way to survive these days but I’m just not sure who would actually stay there.

If you loved cruise holidays and cruise ships surely you’d go, well……cruising. On the other hand if you didn’t like cruise holidays or cruise ships why on earth would you pay to stay in a hotel designed to offer an experience that you didn’t like?

I see only one word for it….

버릴거

That’s Korean for Bonkers.
