Sally Walker Talks Cruises

Where will you be watching the Fifa World Cup 2014?

The excitement is building!! The countdown has begun, 58 days to go until the first kick off. Will this be the summer for England to rejoice, will we bring the world cup home??  Who knows!! But half the enjoyment of the world cup for all of us is just watching the games. Basking in the sunshine of a pub garden with a beer or two whilst watching the match, the camaraderie of our fellow football fans, a time to unite the nation.

But what if you could watch it from the middle of the ocean on a luxury cruise liner??

Well this is all now possible thanks to the broadcasting rights allowing cruise ships to play the matches in a number of different venues on board ship or from your own stateroom. I for one would love to watch a match on an open air big screen up on deck with a cocktail!!

The major cruise operators such as Costa, Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian Cruise Line will all be broadcasting the matches on their sailings. Not only will they broadcast but there will be football fever galore on some ships with family games and matches taking place on board and video game challenges. They are certainly getting in the spirit.

But what are your thoughts? Maybe you go away to escape all the football fever!!  I for one am not a football fan but will almost certainly always watch the World Cup. And I am sure that once on board there will be sanctuary’s to go and hide.
