The Nieuw Statendam open for business

Well it has been a year since the launch of Holland America Lines MS Koningsdam which first set sail last April 2016.

And what better way to mark the occasion than to open up the bookings for the next highly anticipated arrival, The Nieuw Statendam. She will be the next in the Pinnacle class to follow Koningsdam. Bookings will be open from 17 May 2017.

Currently being built at the Fincantieri ship yard in Italy, the MS Nieuw Amsterdam will be the 6th ship to bear the Statendam name, she will carry 2650 guests at 99500 tonnage.

Pinnacle class features already on Koningsdam will feature on Nieuw Statendam such as the French restaurant Sel de Mer, Dive in Burger grill, The culinary arts centre and of course the outdoor movie screen on lido deck.  An outdoor movie screen is fast becoming one of my favourite features on any ship.

Holland America Line really do encompass – savour the journey, with the renowned itineraries and different destinations, it is all about the journey. They offer the chance to visit exotic and more obscure places than ever in premium comfort and surroundings, with fine dining and entertainment by top Chefs and broadway composers.

“Holland America Line is writing the next chapter in our evolving story, yet we are a company with a deep history, and the name ms Nieuw Statendam perfectly blends our past, present and future,” said Orlando Ashford, Holland America Line’s president. “The previous Statendam ships have been among the most beloved in our history, and we eagerly anticipate sharing this beautiful new ship with our guests in 2018.”

The Nieuw Statendam will sail on a transatlantic voyage December 2018 before running a series of Caribbean cruises including visits to the private Half Moon Cay.

And how much will she cost to sail on, message me for a quotation 🙂
