Sally Walker Talks Cruises

Sally’s top cruise excursions.

walk underwater

Last week I posted some of Ben Fogels amazing excursions. So I thought I would research some of the most obscure and interesting excursions myself and see whats out there. I have put together my top 5. Let me know if you have ever done any of these. I think they look brilliant. Some I have done, others are on my list.

Number 1: Walk under water. Pictured above,  this to me looks really amazing. I have tried scuba diving and really didn’t take to it. I was the only scuba diver who remained on the surface the whole time!! But this gives the opportunity to get up close and personal with the fascinating under water world and marine life whilst being able to breathe naturally. It is available in a variety of different ports in the Caribbean and the Indian Ocean. This I must try.

Number 2: Private wine tour to the Cote D’Provence

Another of my loves……wine!! I have done the Cognac regions in France before, but never the wine regions.  On this excursion you will be guided by an expert Sommellier who will advise you on the history of wines and  the regions from a Chateaux , before getting the opportunity on how to taste and smell different wines.

Number 3: Hawaii Zip line adventure

I have always wanted to try this, and no better place than in Hawaii with its stunning scenery, mountains, volcanoes and waterfalls. You can also do this trip with a horse riding trek through the jungle. Hawaii boasts some of the best zip lines ever for all ages ranging from 5 upwards.

Number 4: Whale watching in Alaska

Alaska has to be one of the number one places to go whale watching. And in particular the Orca whale who never fails to fascinate. Seeing them in the wild in their own environment must be exhilarating to watch. I am sure a few of us have seen them in captivity but in the wild must be a whole different experience. Any Alaskan cruise will likely have lots of trips on offer, of course there are better times of year in which to do this depending on where and the species of whale you are interested in. Humpback and Orcas always amaze me.

Number 5: Salem Witch Museum

Available from the port of Boston, this is a one of a kind trip that will fascinate you with the history from the 1692 hysteria. I love the Halloween holiday so this was something extremely unique. I did this trip a far few years ago now and was certainly something different.

If you have any unique or interesting trips that you have done please let me know. I would love to share this.
