Cruising to the TT

Fred Olsen have always been great at themed cruises like their Murder Mystery or Gardening cruises.

But this year they have invented a whole new selection to choose from. I am just a little unsure, based on their average age range, that some of the choices aren’t a little of the mark. I mean classical music festivals at sea, rambling, bridge and Antiques Roadshow is what one might think of as an appropriate themed cruise for Fred Olsen.

But this year is to test the waters so to speak with Fast Cars and Movie stars and the TT Isle of Man for example – fantastic event, been myself, massive bike fan. This is thrills on its highest level, maybe not one I would associate with the typical Fred Olsen clientele. Standing in the grandstand, black leather jacket on with a greasy burger and a beer! I can just picture it now.

But actually in all seriousness these themed cruises are fantastic and these are just a selection.

As I mentioned – The TT Isle of Man, Superbikes and Scenic Hikes June 2015. This cruise is described an exhilarating cruise which gives guests the chance to experience one of the most challenging motorcycle races in the world – the famous Isle of Man TT, this is the also first time that Fred. Olsen has offered this cruise to the TT.  Isle Of Man is a beautiful Island and combined with Guernsey and Tobermory where Balamory was filmed [ for those of you have kids will know what that is] makes for a great cruise itinerary.

Then there is Fast Cars and Movie stars, which will take in the Monaco Grand Prix in May 2015 and includes the town where the Good the Bad and the Ugly was filmed

Next there is the Elvis theme cruise which takes you to Denmark in April 2015, here you will stop off at the house that has been built as an exact replica of Gracelands. And with Parties, film shows and discos on board you will all come off doing the jail house rock!!

Themed cruises are a great way to see different places and real experiences that have been around for many many years, TT is nearly a hundred years old and so there is much history that comes with these cruises too.

If you would like more information on any of these cruises or more – please feel free to comment.
