Celebrity Cruises is building again, The APEX.

Celebrity Edge hasn’t sailed yet and Celebrity is already building her a new sister ship. The new ship will be called Celebrity Apex and will launch in the UK and sail several voyages out of Southampton in its first season in April 2020 until the winter season when she will be repositioned to areas with the warmer weather out of Europe

Celebrity Edge is the first ship being build for the Edge class. She is currently under construction at the STX shipyard in France. The construction of the vessel started in November 2016 and is scheduled to depart on her maiden voyage in December 2018. Sister ships are built exactly the same way and have the same layout. The interior will be different and will give the Apex a different look.

She has a huge capacity to impress and will be completed with the work of art of famous interior designers

The Apex will stand tall with at least 16 decks at a size of 129.500 tons and with 2918 passengers at a full capacity.

We don’t know yet where will she will sail to and when will she be on sale. P&O has just launched her new huge ship IONA which is sailing around Norway from May 2020 until the end of summer. Based on the huge impact this will have I hope it’s not Norway. I’m not sure how well the ports will cope with so many large ships arriving on the same day and how crowded it will be with thousands of people arriving in floods. I’m sure Celebrity has worked out some great itineraries with a variety of itineraries for everyone

Celebrity Edge was a huge success and it’s a very much loved ship. I’m sure Celebrity will surprise us with outstanding features,
