Lunch Time Cruising…….
So last weekend I went on a cruise, a very short one in fact, it was all of 2 hours long! We had decided to do something a bit different and special for lunch as it was someone’s special birthday. We decided to take a lunchtime cruise down and a bit up the Thames. We started at Embankment Pier and made our way up past Parliament and then made our way back down as far as Canary Wharf before returning to our start point.
I can highly recommend this trip to anyone who fancies doing something a little different in London. The cost was £45 per person, although you could pay a little less but we choose the premium package as this guaranteed a window seat. An upgrade I would recommend, although you could see perfectly well from further in the ship as it was like a conservatory, it’s was nice to not have to awkwardly look past someone else who was eating.
The package included a 3 course meal, a bottle of wine and water to share (between 2) followed by tea or coffee. Throughout the journey there was a running commentary about the places we passed along with their rich histories. Some places of course were obvious but there were others you wouldn’t have given a second glance to and I found the whole talk very interesting.
There aren’t just lunch time cruises, you can do afternoon tea ones, evening ones and even a Sunday Jazz one!
