‘Record breaking figures’

Figures released this week have shown that cruising is still on the up and more popular than ever. This is great news for us hard working cruise consultants. Figures show that 2012 was a record year for UK cruise ports with passenger embarkation increasing by 10%, the forth double digit increase in cruise passenger embarkation in 7 years puts British Ports on course to hit the 1 million mark in 2013.

Cruise itineraries are also featuring more UK ports of call , which is fantastic for us Brits all round, figures have doubled since 2007.

More than 1000 of you joined the cruise fanatics last year taking to the ocean for the first time, and at least 1 in every 8 overseas package holidays booked  was a cruise holiday.
Even better news for the River cruise market at the moment with an incease of 14% in 2012, making River cruising more popular than ever.

With Thomas Cook announcing more store closures this week, I’m very glad to be working for a travel sector that is still very much on the up. So lets keep breaking those records and get even more of you out there taking the plunge this year, be it a River or Ocean cruise. I can guarantee once you’ve tried it you’ll never look back.
