Off to Benidorm

Yes that’s right, you read correctly and no I have not gained a couple of century’s overnights. Hitting my mid thirty’s I thought it was about time to sample what retirement age may have to offer me!

I’ve never been to Benidorm, for some reason it’s never really been a destination on my bucket list, however a good friend of mine has worked the Winter season for Thomson Holidays in Benidorm for many years and is heading out to Celebrate her 40^th Birthday there this weekend. Thirty middle aged party goers will be heading out on Friday for a weekend of middle aged madness. Somehow I can see a few of us appearing on Benidorm ER next year, can’t think why!

So what are my expectations, after occasionally catching the amusing Benidorm series I’m thinking, sky scrapers, double buggy mobility scooters, tacky bars, fry up café’s, and lots of tat. Can’t wait!

Many of our friends have chosen budget accommodation to allow for plenty of drinking spends, but my friend and I have gone for the slightly more refined ‘Club Levante Spa’ hotel a short walk from the seafront. A reasonable cost of £25 bed & breakfast per night or £35 all inclusive so for an extra £10per night it seemed mad not to take them up on their ‘All inclusive’ offer, after all it’s what I’ve been telling my Celebrity & Fred’s customers for the last year.

All in all with flights, transfers and hotel our 5 night break has come in at £300per person ‘all inclusive’, so we can’t complain.

Hotel looks nice, 4*, spa facilities, somewhere to escape to when the going gets tough and we have very large hangovers to recover from.

I am quietly looking forward to being pleasantly surprised and find a side to Benidorm of unique culture and fine dining, will this happen? We will see, many customers have advised the old town is the place to explore so I will let you know………
