Off-load me, are you for real……

Earlier this week Easyjet were in a tricky spot, a flight was deemed to be too heavy for take off due to bad weather. To get themselves out of this predicament they offered passengers £250 compensation and an alternative flight if they would volunteer to get off the flight.

They needed approximately ten people to off-load. My first thought that came to mind was do they go for the ten heaviest volunteers or the ones that have hold luggage, which do you think?

It got me thinking though, would I want to stay on board the flight or rather get off? How can the airline be sure that ten people would be enough to deem the flight safe for take off? Would I rather dig my heels in and stay glued to my seat fearing it may be a rocky ride, after all I’ve booked my ticket, completed my on-line check-in, survived grueling passport control, got myself comfy for my in-flight glass of wine, and now I’m contemplating getting off the plane, surely not.

I think my superstition would definitely get the better of me, and if I had no strict commitments the other end I’d be sure to get off that aircraft.

What would you do???????????
