Just like a Rolling Stone……….

Many of my customer’s know I am a bit of a music freak, I love live music and have played in bands for years. I’ve been to many festivals over the years too so have also been really lucky to see many of my favourite bands live from Queen, Stereophonics, Manics, Kings of Leon, Killers, Foo Fighters, The Who, Fleetwood Mac, Bowie……I could go on.

I only wish I could have seen Amy Winehouse live before she left us but that was not to be. When I heard the Rolling Stones were releasing extra dates for their ongoing Tour this year I could not resist paying the stupid amount for three tickets to take my Mom & Dad.

We headed to Cardiff last Friday where they were performing at the Principality Stadium formally the Millenium Stadium. When we arrived the City was out in true style getting into the Rolling Stones spirit. Every restaurant, bar, busker was playing Stones tunes and everyone was on top form really appreciating the business that 47 thousand Stones fans had bought to the City, dining, shopping and drinking before heading to the concert.

I was a little worried as my Mom had been poorly with vertigo over the last couple of weeks and our seats where how can I say in the Gods…………so I was thrilled she managed to make it, but at the same time wondering how on earth I was going to get her to the top of the Stadium. My worries were quickly quashed when the stewards pointed us to the escalators that took us more or less right to the top where we were seated.

Elbow supported then at 8:30 Mick Jaggar and the boys hit the stage playing all the good old favourites from a career spanning more than 50 years.

Safe to say they were fantastic and we all had a brilliant weekend.

If you’re wanting a City break in the UK I can definitely recommend Cardiff and if you can combine it with a match or gig at the Stadium it is well worth a look at…………. Roll on Isle of Wight Festival tomorrow…….
