Food down our locals really gone downhill…

We love Halloween; usually we spend the evening at our friend’s house that spend two weeks converting their three bedroom semi into a gothic crypt with floor to ceiling bin bags lining the walls and a legendary crime scene in the bathroom.

This year they are having a year off so we decided to head down our local pub for the evening on Saturday for a quick light bite. Keeping in true Halloween theme the band were dressed in fancy dress so it would have been rude not to join them.

Armed with our crucifix and broom stick we arrived just in time for our starters to arrive ‘eye ball pork pie’ what more could you wish for. Our friends had been busy in the kitchen trying to create as many grotesque courses they could imagine. I have to say they definitely achieved it.

Everybody had made such an effort, the atmosphere was great and a fantastic night was had by all. I think Halloween will just get bigger and better in the UK which is fine by me, there are some American traditions I’m more than happy to partake in.

As I was only flying home on my broom stick, it would have been rude not to sample the pumpkin ale!
