Crown Princess To The Rescue

I had a number of guests who travelled recently on the Crown Princess.

I always call my customers when they come back to find out how they got on and for their honest feedback on the ship.

After all it is the best way to find out how people have honestly rated their cruise so we can take on board their experiences when talking to people in the future.

This cruise did turn out to be very eventful.

The first incident was when the ship answered a distress call on route to Corfu and had to rescue a boat full of Syrian refugees.

They were taken on board ship and supplied with food and drinks. One of the refugees went into labour and had to be air lifted to hospital where she had an emergency caesarean.

Luckily mother and baby were both fine.

Unfortunately this meant the ship was unable to make its call into Corfu.

All of my customers understood and although a little disappointed obviously realised that these things are beyond the cruise lines control.

However I have read some independent reports from people who were not quite so understanding which I find very sad. At the end of the day I am sure we all accept that the safety of another person is far more important than a day in the Greek Islands.

Apparently the ship hit bad storms on Koper and they thought they would not be able to dock there but luckily the captain managed to make this call and once the ship was docked the weather was lovely and everyone was able to go ashore and enjoy their day.

Luckily this does not happen very often so there are very few disruptions to the scheduled itineraries.

The one thing that everyone did agree on was that the ship was fantastic.

The food, the service and the entertainment was first class and considering the ship was sailing at full capacity it does go to show what a good product Princess Cruises offer.
