P&O Announces new Food Hero sailings for 2020

P&O Cruises have recently announced their “Food Heroes” sailings for 2020.  These will include food and drink themed cruises on the new P&O ship Iona which launches in May 2020.

Top food heros who will be participating include Marco Pierre White, Eric Lanlard and wine expert Olly Smith on a total of ten ex-UK itineraries. Food Heroes cruises feature cookery demonstrations, masterclasses, hosted dinners, Q&A sessions and shore excursions in selected ports of call accompanied by the various experts.

On Iona “Marco’s Gala” menus will be available in all four main restaurants and cruisers will also be able to sample Eric’s hand-crafted pastries in Vistas Cafe Bar and during hosted afternoon tea, and join “Jolly” Olly’s food and drink experiences including hosted tours in selected ports of call, such as a brewery experience in Bergen.

On Britannia and Azura, Olly will host one-to-one sessions at The Glass House to answer questions about wine, and on Britannia passengers can attend Marco’s hosted masterclasses in the Cookery Club and learn to prepare some of his popular dishes, as well join hosted dinners.

P&O Cruises’ president, Paul Ludlow, said that he is delighted that his guests will have the opportunity to meet and learn from these culinary masters, whilst enjoying the holiday of a lifetime. We’ve added a Bergen brewery tour experience with Olly Smith which is exclusive to Iona sailing G019 5th September 2020, and are proud of returning Food Heroes favourites such as our interactive cookery shows and Q&A sessions with Marco and Eric.

The Food Heroes sailings for 2020 are:

Marco Pierre White: 7-night Norwegian cruises departing July 25 and August 1; 14-night Spain France and Gibraltar itineraries departing August 4 and August 15.

Olly Smith: 14-night Spain, France, Italy and Gibraltar cruise departing June 20; 7-night Norway itinerary departing September 5; 7-night Portugal, Spain and Gibraltar sailing departing October 4.

Eric Lanlard: 14-night Spain, France and Gibraltar cruise departing July 18; 7-night Norway itinerary departing August 8; 14-night Spain, France, Italy and Gibraltar sailing departing August 29.

I think additions to cruises like this are great. You always get a great experience on-board anyway but these are just extra things of interest on these particular sailings and will be a really nice addition for guests who have an interest in this.
