About ME

Hi All I have just re-joined www.cruise.co.uk and have had a great year, met some amazing people and had a wonderful time with them. I have now been in cruise for over 10 years with plenty of ships under my belt. I returned to the UK some years ago having moved to ‘live the dream’ in France, renovate an old house, have lazy sunny days watching petanque and drinking pineau, scouring the brocantes for bargains and learning the language, all very well but I’m not old enough! Needed to rejoin reality and have the buzz of life back, don’t get me wrong I don’t regret it at all and loved the experience, maybe in another 10 years I may think about it again but to be honest – been there and done it!

I love travelling and new experiences, I have a list of things/places I would love to do, which is endless and always being added to!

I have a grown up daughter, who is an absolute angel, Kimmy went to University in Portsmouth and never came back – nothing I did she just loves it there. She is a constant source of entertainment to me as you can see! Always singing with me and messing around!

I am terrified of heights but managed to paraglide in Tunisia, have managed the RCI Rock Wall – you may think that’s not so bad but you have to remember you are already at least 50m above the sea before you start! I am not a fan of flying but as you will see from my travels I don’t let it stop me – you have to do these things to feel an achievement, however small, the old adage – do something that frightens you to feel alive – not convinced that that is the way forward personally!

Amongst my favourite places in the World is Singapore and Hong Kong although there are many others that I could list, the ‘tram’ ride on Victoria Island is not for the faint hearted. I made a trip to South Africa and saw some amazing animals, now there is a place to go back time  and time again, unfortunately for me, someone had turned the Victoria Falls off so I did not get to see the full force of the falls, will not go in December next time.

I am an avid reader and will read pretty much anything, ‘The Art of Racing in the Rain’ was a particularly memorable one,written from the pet dog’s point of view.

I am an animal lover, a gin lover, I very much enjoyed my visit to the Bombay Distillery and have discovered a love of gardening- random for me and we will see if it continues.

 I have added my first River Cruise to my travels which I really enjoyed, sailing with Celebrity and visited many other ships as well.

As many of you out there already know, my wonderful daughter was married recently and I have the proud duty of giving her away – I was that mother that refused to let go of her hand until she told me it was ok – all went smoothly (apart from that bit) and they are very happy.
