Hello from Vietnam!

Hai Van Pass Panorama with permissive and mountains and winding road slopes downhill, so far as the Da Nang bay rich in attracting foreign tourists to the resort in Vietnam

Hello from Vietnam!  When this blog is published, I will have been in Vietnam already for 6 days.  My journey will have already taken me to Hanoi, Halong bay and Hue.  Today I will be leaving Hue to travel down to Hoi An.  I will update you on my trip in full when I return but I just wanted to let you know what I will be doing today as I am excited about this journey.

A lot of people take a bus between Hue and Hoi An, but we decided to avoid this as they normally take the Hai Van tunnel and this misses out some of the amazing scenery the route has to offer.  Through looking through trip advisor recommendations (my bible!)  we found a company which offers a taxi between the two where you can add stops on the way.  Here is how our day is planned:

We will be picked up from our hotel and en-route will be travelling on the Hai Van pass which offers spectacular views and quite dangerous bends and edges (wish us luck!).  We will see the marble mountains and stop at Lang Ko beach.  We will be able to stop in a village for lunch and to experience life how the locals do and then will stop at My Son sanctuary.  This consists of a cluster or abandoned and partially ruined Hindu Temples.  This is Vietnam’s closest comparison to Cambodia’s Angkor Watt.  Although the damage sustained in the war ruined this partially it is still supposed to be a very beautiful and interesting visit.

We will then get to our hotel in Hoi An for a 3 night stay in what is supposed to be a quite beautiful town famous for its canals and lanterns.
